Bellarts School for the Gifted

Year: 2201 WPA

In an era when magic and elves are accepted, but vampires, werewolves, and Half-Breeds are not, Ballarts High stands proudly atop the only hill in Craven, a city-state of Central Hub, the capital of the World Power Association. (WPA)

Central Hub is located on the land mass that used to be the United States of America. It came to be known by this new name after the Last World War. In the year 2010 A.D., the president of the USA declared war on the world after the lack of support garnished from other countries. The fierce battle lasted 13 years, nuclear weapons were used and entire nations were leveled in the fight. The entire world was conquered by the now long, lost Americans, who also suffered many casualties, and lost a great deal of land to nuclear weapons. However, even as the nation was being rebuilt a new world order was forming in the minds of the conquerors. Soon the WPA was established and spread worldwide. The USA was renamed Central Hub and city-states replaced the organized “states”. In the year 2017 Americans had what they had hungered for, they ruled the world.

The calender year was kept the way it was, except A.D. was replaced by WPA, to show the new order of things. After the Last World War, Archeologists began to travel around looking for artifacts that could be traced to the time when the world wasn’t under one power. One ambitious young man named, Ashlee Ike Baronn wanted to become famous and so set out to the remotest parts of the WPA. He found a most intriguing piece of history, that was older then the years A.D. Ashlee had traveled to what used to be Egypt, and dug up the tomb of an ancient magician. Papyrus scrolls held the findings of this magician. Roughly translated it means:

I have magic that none, not even the pharaoh can match, and yet many here still doubt me. They say it is all trickery, well I have found the truth. I was searching in my own mind one after the full moon and I discovered something I had previously overlooked. A small spark in the center of my mind where I concentrate my magic from. Intrigued, I set out to walk about the city to see if any others had this spark. No one else had it! I told my pharaoh of my findings, and he bid me go to find if others had this spark of mine. Far , far, farther still I searched, until I came upon a city not far from the large sea where many more had this spark. They said they had no idea and thought I was quite crazy. Except for one young boy, he said he had seen others do works without knowing it. I searched into his mind more thoroughly, and the deeper I delved the more his magic spark seemed to swell. Soon it was over and we both knew what this meant. He had come into his power. The young lad became my assistant, and we set out to bring others like us into their power.

Suddenly their came a crash, a rumble, and Ashlee's lamp went out. He was delved into darkness, but not for long. A light swelled in the tomb, and the young archeologist felt power flow through him. All the power that the magician boasted became manifest in Ashlee. Without another thought he whisked himself out of the cave and away from the place, but not before wiping clean the text from the scrolls.

From that day forth, he became Arthus Illiad Ballart, and for the first few decades of his life, he traveled not just the world, but to different times as well. Arthus discovered his powers included; Telekinesis, Transfiguration, Light Magic, Elemental Magic, and of course Dark Magic. He discovered that is was best to have a Companion with him. A Companion could be made by transferring some magic into an animal, any animal. As he began to gather those with the power, he called them the Gifted, those who did not share in this "gift" were referred to as "Norms". Creatures the Norms had not noticed before, were found on his travels; Elves, Vampires, Werewolves, and Half - Breeds.

Arthus came up with a brilliant idea to start a school for his Gifted, but first he had to report to the Leaders of the WPA. He reported all that had happened to him, all that he had found, and all of his plans. The Leaders were pleased with Arthus' findings, and they were willing to accept the magic, Companions, and Elves. However, they would not allow Vampires, Werewolves, and Half-Breeds near their people, and the school had to also hold a Highschool for the Norms, so that while the Gifted went to their school, they could also finish their Norm education. Those who had the Gift could not be chosen for the school until their sophomore year, but the rest was up to Arthus. In this way Ballarts School for the Gifted was born, on top of Ballarts High.

Arthus chose adults with the Gift, trained them, and set them as the teachers. He became the Headmaster/Principal, those who showed the Gift were brought before him, but the number began to grow more steadily, especially when he was letting those who the Leaders thought he shouldn't. The teachers began to take over that job and Arthus became a mysterious figure, rarely seen by anyone, unless he wanted them to.

The school stands, welcoming Norms for their high school education, and the Gifted for much, much more.
